Bergzeit at the new Deggendorf Location
Shoes need space! With another order from Bergzeit GmbH, Alt FineCom Finishing-eCommerce-Logistics GmbH has combined the existing returns and the new shipping logistics in Deggendorf. The online retailer in the outdoor and mountain sports sector occupies half the logistics space.
After one year of cooperation with Bergzeit, FineCom has also taken over the shipping logistics for shoes and set up a new location in Deggendorf for this purpose. At the end of the year, the relocation of the returns management for accessories and textiles from Plattling was completed. Bergzeit thus occupies about half of the 11,000 m² hall in Deggendorf.
The former TWD Fibers GmbH building was equipped with 2,000 running meters of shelving and 300 storage spaces in pallet racks. Three weeks after the keys were handed over, it went into operation with digitalised processes in August 2021. Today, an average of 34,500 parts pass through the incoming goods department and 40,000 orders with 60,000 parts pass through the outgoing goods department for Bergzeit per month. In addition, there are 60 swap bodies full of returns per month.
The customer was convinced by the in-house clothing clinic with employees experienced in textiles who assess complaints, remove stains and repair damage. After finishing, the goods are cleaned, steamed or ironed and packed ready for dispatch back to the Bergzeit warehouse. “FineCom works as carefully as a traditional company in the textile industry and as flexibly as a start-up when it comes to logistics and IT processes. This meets our demand for sustainable processes, especially in the reprocessing of goods,” says Markus Zabel, Managing Director at Bergzeit.
With Deggendorf, Passau and Mühlheim an der Ruhr, FineCom has opened three new locations in one year and expanded the space by 45,000 m². “We are rapidly building up efficient fulfillment capacities and giving our customers breathing space for further growth,” says FineCom CEO Franz S. Alt. “Our resource-efficient value-added fulfillment and returns management services are in high demand amidst staff and space shortages.”
